swollen and hair loss near eye

I have a 8 month old bulldog and i just noticed that around his eye, the part closest to his nose, is swollen and it looks like some hair fell out.  I just noticed this tonight so it must have just came up.  I found him in the corner licking the wall so i'm wondering if it's the paint that he is allergic to, or if it is something else.  Also, should I be worried?  His poo is normal as well as his behavior.

Take him to the vet.  It could be any number of things.  The vet can tell you what is wrong with your "boy".

Let us know how it turns out.

sound like it could be a bug bite or allergies, simple quick visit to the vet would clear it up. You can give your dog benedryl. But it's worth checking out, we live in the country, weird bugs, spiders and ticks.

Yea, Boston23 comments sounds on the target.....bug bite, scratch himself w/his own nail, got into something allergic to, you never know, but around the eye can get dangerous quick....check in w/your vet, to be on safe side, did the eye today wake up more swollen w/gunk? I beleive in callin the vet and they give you advice and they've got ointment they will probably give you to keep eye from irritant and additonal infections....
good luck to you and yours...give a hug to the little friend for me, and keep the site posted to let us know if ya'll are okay...

It may be as minor as a bug bite, but, personally, I would get my vet to check it out.  When it's near the eye it bothers me.  That goes for humans too!
