my mini dachshund

I have a male mini Dachshund 7 yrs old about 12 lbs not over weight at all, in the last month he cries out if you pick him up and I notice sometimes when he is laying onhis side and he tries to get up he has a hard time `getting his back legs under him to push himself up and cries, but he still jumps, we try and and keep him from jumping.
What do you think? Thank you Bob P

Hi Bob.....This sounds like IVDD (Intervertebral Disk Disease). Dachsies are the #1 breed to suffer from it. I have two very good sights to go read about this: In your search engine, type in "Luv My Dachshunds-Disk Disease" or another one is "Dachie's Bulletin Board". On this board there is a forum section. One forum is specifically for back problems. You'll see it.....Please, don't wait long to have him treated.....It can get out of hand and is very painful for your little guy, but can be managed (Real well) with the right protocol.......Karla
