Please tell me should a dog on prednisolone be given a live vaccine?????
I think it's important I add that if your dog is receiving prednisolone as a matter of some urgency - such as certain life-threatening illnesses - then vaccination (annual boosters, etc) would not normally be given. Prednisolone suppresses the bone-marrow from producing white blood cells, which means there could be a severe and potentially fatal reaction to annual booster vaccines. I would take the advice of your vet on this and ask any pertinent questions of him at the same time, if you have concerns. Tony
