What's going on with my ear?

I woke up today and noticed that every time I speak, or a loud noise happens such as a plane flying by, it seems to echo in my left ear and it creates somewhat of a vibrating sensation in that ear and the left side of my head. It has stuck around since I woke up and I have no clue what this is or if it will go away. I have some sort of virus, saw a doctor a few days ago to know that, but he was not sure what kind of virus and this just started today. Could it be a part of that? Please help me figure this out.
