Hi Saceal,
You have not mentioned whether you have common cold/ nasal discharge or not. Hence I presume that you have acidity (symptoms like eructations, burping and sour things coming into your throat), if so, this must be a condition called Laryngo pharyngeal reflux, because of the regurgitation of materials from the stomach which constantly irritates the throat, thats when this slimy mucous gets produced. So you avoid foods like oily/spicy/coffee/tea which are gastric irritants. Try taking medicines like Ranitidine/Pantoprazole for cople of weeks and drink plenty of water. Hope this should solve the problem.

Well it would be impossible to say what is going on with you without an exam. Sometimes, even with an exam we don't know what is wrong with someone!
Having said that, simply based upon the symptoms you described, I do not see how a diagnosis of bronchitis can be made. Perhaps you are omitting some other details. Furthermore, since most cases of bronchitis are caused by viruses, I don't understand why you would be given an antibiotic for that anyway. Oh well.
You could have some esophageal or pharyngeal inflammation. Since a cough does not appear to be a major component of this, I would think that your lungs or bronchi are less likely to be the culprit. That's about all I can say, however...
