ENT Referral

I've been referred to a ENT specialist but i still have 3 weeks to wait for my appointment so i would appreciate some insight into what i could be suffering from.

It all started about 5 months ago when i went to my local doctors complaining of a burning throat and tasting acid, i was prescribed Omeprazole which i am still taking to this day.. a month or so after taking the prescribed medication i started to feel like there was something in my throat, if i drink for example it feels like the liquid is washing over what seems to be a 'lump' but i have also started to get a lot of mucus/phlegm with this 'symptom' as i said i now have to wait 3 weeks for a appointment with a ENT specialist but is there any chance this could be the dreaded cancer word? I have no change in my voice etc.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply much appreciated

I have not had any scans, mri or ultrasounds of my neck area at all, there is no pain when i eat or swallow but food does get stuck 'sometimes' and i have to swallow at least 3 times. No dry mouth and no history of any oral thrush.

Don't think that way. Positive thoughts...

Has anyone done any ct scan, mri, or ultrasounds of the neck area? Any blood work done to rule out infection (blood work will not always show infection). It could be lymph nodes, salivary glands.

Does it hurt when you eat? Dry mouth? Have you ever  had oral thrush?

Dont read to much into it until you see the ENT.
