Hi, I wear earplugs & headphones etc due to the nature of my job, this results in a lot of ear wax build up & i've have had a few instances of excessive ear wax over the years which has resulting in syringing.
I first had them syringed in 2005, & then at the start of 2011 they got blocked & needed syringing again. Fair enough i thought, getting them syringed every 5-6 years isn't much of a problem. But my farther suggested that if i start taking Cod Liver Oil it should actually soften the wax to the point where it comes out more naturally, hence i might not need to have them syringing again at all. So i did, i started taking Cod Liver Oil every day, & i did notice more, softer wax, coming out my ears on a regular basis. BUT, now i've just had to have them done yet again at the start of this year. (2012) I only had them done a year ago, so something seems to have made me produce more wax in this short space of time, & i'm assuming it can only be one of two things, ether the fact i'm having them syringed more (which just makes it worse anyway) or the CLO.
Does anyone have any idea if it might be the Cod Liver Oil? I've read all over the net that CLO helps with ear wax if you’re deficient in the oils & minerals it contains, but, i'm thinking if i wasn't deficient, then has it actually increased my production of it unnecessarily? I also found this, which suggested it might be the case... http://www.greenpasture.org/fermented-cod-liver-oil-butter-oil-vitamin-d-vitamin-a/reposting-old-information-on-clo-and-ear-wax/?back=javascript:history.back%28%29;
If the excess build up isn't due to the CLO then fair enough, i'm happy to keep taking it as it does soften the wax. But, if it's actually giving me an over production of the stuff then I would rather stop, that way maybe I’ll be able get back to not having to have them syringed so often.
Any views or opinions would be gratefully received.
Thanks.
