General Question

Hello,

I have the worse sore throat I could have ever thought imaginable. I was tested for strep and do not have that. I noticed a really bad pain in my neck left side, where my lymph node is on Saturday. I thought I had just pulled a muscle. Sunday rolled around and my throat really began hurting. Anything I tried to eat that was not liquid or very soft felt like glass going down. Monday it only got worse. I looked at my throat in the mirror with a flashlight, and there are probably 15+ pus pockets in my throat. Tuesday, I could not get out of bed. When I finally got up I went to Student Health where the PA said it was just a pharyngeal virus and should go away in 10-14 days from my first symptoms. Today I can swallow with out the pus pockets on either side of my tongue making me want to cry. I I have these sores on three separate parts of my gums. And now have an infected taste bud. I feel like things are getting so much worse, before getting better. What can I do? What can I take? Please any professional help would be great.
