Is it normal to hear my heartbeat or pulse in my ear when I lay on my side?

If I angle my head right I can hear my pulse or heartbeat thumping in my right ear when I lay on my side. I have been experiencing pressure and pain in my right temple for months and my neuro doctor just says it is migraines. Is this normal? I just had a cbc done with differential and that came back normal. I had a mri done a year ago and that was clear.
