Olive Oil for Ear Wax?

Hi,

I think I may have impacted hard ear wax. My ear is itchy, irritated and ringing slightly. This happened to me a few months ago and I used ear drops bought at the pharmacy. Three days later, it only moved the wax to completely block my ear (and hearing) so I went to see a doctor who syringed it out. I experienced vertigo that night so I'm hoping for another solution for this.

Can olive oil work alone on the wax, given it is used for a few days, without the need for syringing? Not a lot of doctors here do syringing, only specialists, so it will be difficult for me to find a doctor to do this anyways.

Also, for those who have tried this, how much olive oil and how often to apply it?

I agree. Ear drops don't bring the wax out. I'm going to try peroxide next.
