Orange tongue

I've had a cough and a lot of phlem for about 2 weeks.  The couging has subsided, but there's still phelm in my throat. Yesterday I noticed that my tongue was coated in an yellowy/orange color!!  I scraped it, and brushed it, but to no avail.  Is this a common ailment?  Anybody???  Thanks.

I FOUND THE CURE..WELL FOR ME ANYWAY AND I PRAY IT WORKS FOR YOU ALL TOO BECAUSE I KNOW THIS *****!!! :) so i tried everything just like  you all did, still on the same meds...

oxycodone
xanax/klonopin (dr rotates them)
senn-s(the natural vegetable one)
womens one a day(just started this, dr said OT may be lack of vitamins, but no change)
singulair
claritin
flovent inhaler
pro-air inhaler (or ventalin, proventil..a rescue inhaler of some sort always)

and finally the Dr gave me 500 mg of Penecillin 4 times a day for 10 days and rinsed with HOT as you can stand SALTY water AS salty as you can stand. Just rinse your mouth out with it and gargle it 2-3 times a day (i sometimes did it 5 or 6 trying to beat this thing) and ALL GONE!!!! knock on wood, more important Pray to God it stays gone but yep tried everything just like you all and Penecillan and salty water was more sure, almost 3 weeks free now!! :)

Good luck to you.  It's been months since I've had OT since I started with the silver.  These days, I only put a few drops once or twice a month into my tea and so far so good.  I got a sore throat a few months back and thought for sure I'd get the OT again, but nope, I didn't.  If you do try the silver, let us know how it works.

hi everyone, i too have orange tongue. I actually got this years ago when i was a kid and had braces, no one could really figure it out, i was sent to specialist after specialist and they eventually decided it was an allergy to the metal in the braces, and took them out. The OT went away shortly after.  I've had it intermittently and usually it goes away with a nystatin rinse. this time seems to be different. I had my wisdom teeth removed last friday (the 11th) and was put on erythromycin to prevent infection. I had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics and stopped them two days later. Since the surgery I've felt this coating on my tongue getting thicker and more painful. I now have a very thick, very orange coating on my tongue, my tonsils are swollen and there's some white sores on them, also my throat is very sore along with my entire mouth. I've been rinsing with salt water and hydrogen peroxide, but now the hydrogen peroxide hurts too much. Heck water itself hurts too much. The pain of this infection is worse then the pain from the surgery. I do feel it relates to sugar, as i felt it get worse after every time i ate ice cream. Unfortunately, since i still can't chew anything, its hard to find soft foods that don't have a bunch of sugar. The doctor has put me on mycelex which are little tablets that dissolve in the mouth, I just started today. The collodial silver sounds like a good idea, which i may try if these tablets don't work. I will post again in a few days.

this is scary :( and so frusterating. it gives me a nasty taste in my mouth and down the back of my throat. i cant believe all the things dr's have and cant figure out what this is and how to fix it so worried :( I know we could have st is alot worse, but having something like this gingon and not having a clie whats causing it is creepy!

so i dont wanna get too personal but we are all trying to figure this out, so maybe a medecine in common? something in a medication if they changed it in anyway or something? i stay constipated due to other meds i take so all together this is what i take

oxycodone
xanax/klonopin (dr rotates them)
senn-s(the natural vegetable one)
womens one a day(just started this, dr said OT may be lack of vitamins, but no change)
singulair
claritin

I'm not sure this has anything to do with it, but I developed an orange tongue around the time my ex first starting performing oral sex on me (I am a girl, he was a guy). I noticed I had the orange tongue, then strangely so did he (I'm thinking maybe I transferred something to him, and then he transferred it to me when we kissed?).  Anyway my tongue has long since returned to its natural hue, but maybe this is a yeast thing?  Anyone else have these circumstances and just didn't think to mention it? I think that might be it because my diet was very healthy at the time, I exercised 6 days a week, and was on no medication except for a daily multivitamin. Strange thing isn't it, this orange tongue. Mine went away a few months later when we stopped doing oral as much.

So i got my fluconazole in the mail yesterday, but have to wait because i didnt get enough, i only got the one pill as it turns out i need 12 of them. 1 per day. as soon as i get it i will report on the results. Im still doing the Arm and Hammer peroxide tootpaste, 1/2 water/1/2 hydrogen peroxide gargle and tongue scrape followed up by the purple lysterine (supposed to fight bacteria) so just like everyone else, it works fine till i eat, the slowly comes back. looks all healed up in the morning right away, but comes back by 6pm or so. i also received my Chlorhexidine Solution,( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0040V1RES ) its   Broad Spectrum antimicrobial activity gram positive and gram negative bacteria, fungi, yeasts, molds and viruses. Soothing and gentle to skin. Chlorhexidine 2%. Dilution rate 1 oz. to 2 oz. solution per gal. of clean water. im going to incorporate that as well. My wife tells me not to freak but i cant help it. I will keep you all posted.
