Sphenoid cyst

For the past 2 years I have had intermittent strange smells when breathing in through my nose.  It happens when I sniff or sometimes when I blow my nose hard.  I feel a slight pressure and then get this strange smell.  It will stay with me for the rest of the day until I wake up the next morning.  The frequency varies as this is intermittent.  My pcp ordered a sinus CT to check for a chronic sinus infection.  The CT reports shows: an 8 mm right sphenoid sinus mucous retention cyst or possibly small polyp.  No evidence of acute or chronic sinusitis.  Very mild nasal septal deviation convex to the left.

I am not having any visual problems, only a sense of dull but fairly constant pressure in the midface and eyes.  When I blow my nose I almost always have blood and I can hear cracking in my ears as if there is a change in elevation and then the odd smell that comes and goes.  Could these symptoms be consistent with the CT findings?  Is it important to pursue this with an ENT?

Thank you in advance

Wow, that is amazing.  I will have to give it a try.  It is always best when we can do the simple and natural things to help our health versus always using band-aids to cover our symptoms.

Have a great day.

If u can clear the tube it will take care of your sinus problem too.  it did mine and to be honest the last time i took decongestants and used nose spray was in 2003.  i have not been back to the doctor since then.  i thought i'll share what cured me bec. i suffered from it for half of my life and i know the feeling.  i was desperate for a cure so  i did some research on eustachian tube and that's how i figured out my problems.

Thanks for the advice on the eustachian tube.  I would have never thought to put the two together.

I think that smell is the build up in your eustachian tube probably mucus from your sinusis.   try cleaning your ears w/ eardrops like DEBROX.  or any brand will do and follow the direction.  see if this will help.
