Throat pain, dry cough....yellow throat?

Hi,
Woke up this morning, with a very ticklish dry cough, and a bit of a raw "sore" throat.
Looked inside my mouth and saw this: (Caution....)

It's a bit disgusting, no clue whats happening, going to doctors in 2 days as the local is closed and a bit far away from the nearest hospital...or does this warrant an emergency drive?
Please help!

Thank you!!!

Let me congratulate you on the photographs which reveal a nice deal about your problem. You seem to be having a bit of oedema of your uvula alone and the posterior pharyngeal wall seems fine.I think you are having Quincke's edema- infection of the small tongue like thing in the soft palate which is the back of the throat. Its an unexplained hypersensitivity reaction.Should settle with some antihistamincs and a throat culture can be done to know if any bacterial infection coexists. You should be visiting an ENT surgeon for getting a complete examination and indirect laryngoscopy to rule out any other problem.Get well soon!
