Tick in my ear?

I have itchy ears in general.  It was no different to me that my ear was bothering me.  As I laid on my side to get to sleep, I had a squeak in my ear and it felt like something was draining out.  I had never felt that before.  It did it two more times (squeal and draining feeling).  When I lifted my head up a few minutes later, there was a tick on my pillow.  My husband thinks it came from the cat (who was not far away).  I had never experienced that sensation before.  Has anyone else encountered such an experience?  I am a bit grossed out if that tick was actually in my ear.

My sister had a tick in her ear and she said it hurt when she pressed on it but it was also visible so get any relatives to just use a flashlight and look into your ear
