Tip of nose: Excruciating *PAIN*

For the past week or so I've been experiencing nose bleeds, open sores in my nose and swelling and pain on the tip of my nose(on the left side). The sores and bleeding is only in the left nostril. My nose bleeds aren't free flowing. It's more like a small amount of blood that appears when I blow my nose.

My left nostril(on the tip) is very firm and the pain is sometimes excruciating. I thought it might possibly be a pimple under my skin that wasn't surfacing at first. (that's how it feels anyway)

Has anyone ever experienced this?

Similarly, over the last three or four days I have experinced some of the same symptoms. The tip of my nose is red, a tad swollen and gets very very sure anytime I touch it. At first I thought it was pimple about to reach the surface, but nothing has come of it, and when i tryed to squeeze it to get any interior pimple puss out, nothing came out except blood. These comments have actually freaked me out immensly, so I'm planning to go to the doctor tomorrow. I will let you know what happens.. good luck to you all!

Ok, I have the exact same problem with my nose, and it's serious. It's most likely a staph infection and can be MRSA. MRSA is nothing to play around with, especially in the nose region. It could spread to the brain, (there is not much protection in that region, just a thin layer of membrane seperating your nose from your brain) then it's really not good. The best thing to do is to go see a Dr. and get on a strong antibiotic. Bactrum is what is currently being prescribed to fight MRSA. You want to make sure that you get on the antibiotic ASAP. I hope this helps.

Unlike most of you, I don't have redness, cracks, or pimple like marks on or in my nose. I do, however have a severe pain when touching my nose on the right. It is on the cartildge that seperates the nostrils. The pain is so great and sharp-shooting that it makes my eyes water. It does appear to be getting bigger, but no open sores anywhere. I figured that it was when I tripped over my cat (3 months ago) and fell into the door jam with the left side of my face, but it has not gone away nor subsided. I really don't want to go to the Dr. just to hear you have a staph infection. No open sores, bleeding, or pimple like marks??? Cyst??

My wife tested me for peanuts and I was pretty weak. So, it is possible that was part of the problem. If you have things that you are "allergic" to or intolerant of, I recommend NAET (acupuncture). I have been cleared of many allergies for $45 a pop, when it costs thousands of dollars to go with Western medicine. 2 days of colloidal silver spray and my nose is all better :)

Helpful ideas, the acupuncture take, and use of colloidial silver. I don't eat peanuts, but have a few things I'm pretty intolerant of.
I'm going to  keep an eye on my diet and book in with my acupuncturist. Thanks Duane!
(p.s.  I've just discovered this forum. What a relief to be sharing something that seems a dratted nuisance and a bit of a mystery. I hope your nose gets better real soon.)

Hi, all you other people with mysterious nose problems.I have similar symptoms to many of you.It started 8 years ago. I was menopausal , and the inside of my nose changed and became very dry. Then I had a sore on the tip of nose, like a spot that never erupted on the outside ;  but broke out into a sore just inside the nasal cavity. It has never healed. It gets better then it gets worse. Now I have uncomfortable crusts inside both nostrils, which bleed if I blow my nose. Long - distance flying makes it worse, as does high blood pressure.       Recently there is some soreness and bumpiness on the bridge.Sometimes I get a whiff of something that doesn't smell very nice.Yuk
My G.P. gave me "Naseptin", but it wasn't effective . I went to a specialist a few years ago, he didn't have any suggestions.I thought it was M.R.S.A because I was visiting my mother who had the superbug, but I tested negative .
Olive or almond oil applied with q tip before bed helps prevent my nose from getting too crunchy. I'm currently trying Manuka honey. It smells nice, can't do any harm and It might just work!
Metaphor?    The body speaking it's mind?  Any ideas?  let me know if you have any thoughts. Thanks!
