scopolamine withdrawl

I was put on a scopolamine patch in Sept.'10  and have been wearing it fr the last 8 months. It is pute HELL everytime I try to get off of it. The Dr.s have diagnosed me with Meniere's Disease but  I can't get off the patch for them to do definitive testing. My Dr. has put me on an oral for of scopolamine but if I am even an hour or two late taking my dose I am deathly ill. And each tinme I get sick it is worse than the time beforel. I can't take care of myself when I have one of these attacks anymore. I have lost 10 lbs. since Sept. because I ham constantly nauseus. The side effectsd of using the patch have begun to frighten me. My pupils are so large I am light sensitive even in the house. My eye Dr. has informed me that the pressure in my eyes has gone up since my check up a year ago.(when I was OK). I can actually feel my brain misfiring. I am a very detailed person. I cannot concentrate on one subject for any length of time before it becomes overwhelming! I spent the othere day curled into a ball and crying all day. This is not me. This stuff is very dangerous and should never be prescribed to anyone. And none of the Dr.s I ask about this seem to know anything about it.How in God's name do I get off of this after being on it for 8 months!!ske

I was on the patch for three months due to an inner ear infection.  I had the same problem.   Every time I tried to get off the patch I got sick. Even went to the hospital.    My ENT sent me to a neurologist and he told me to get off the patch immediately.  Told me to take meklazine 50 mg every  6-8 for three day’s and then taper.  Took me 16 days to completely get off the meklazine and now I’m done. I feel great !  I’m back to myself.   There is hope. Talk to your dr about scapolimine withdrawal syndrome.  No one seems to know about it. Not even pharmacists.

I'm on the meclizine and I thank God I snatched that patch off and The meclizine is working.

Use 50mg of meclizine and 4mg of  zofran. After a week lower your meclizine dosage to 25mg and that will work.
