Boy, I certainly hope you are not starting the problems I've been having for 3 years!! I have chronic dry mouth and throat and a feeling of a lump (or a wad of mucus) stuck in my throat. I have probably been to no less then 10 doctors, probably half of those ENT docs who see nothing. About 2 weeks ago, the latest ENT decided to take biopsies of my tongue and parotid gland. While I was under anesthetic, he said he checked really good all the way down to the opening of my stomach and sees nothing (no sign of malignancy, thank goodness) other then some irritation. This causes me a lot of anxiety and he suggested I try seeing a rheumatologist. If I were you, I'd definitely get a second opinion from another ENT and specifically ask they do at least a scope in the office. Good luck!!!! Don't know why these symptoms are so hard to diagnose.
Wondering if you ever found anything out/got any new results regarding this problem? I have just started having those same symptoms and it's freaking me out! It's been about a week for me, but it's such an annoying feeling that it seems like it's been much longer. My husband keeps telling me it's probably just a swollen gland in my neck, but I'm not sure why that would be since I don't have any other symptoms of like a cold or anything... I'm trying to put off calling my doctor, but I can't take it much longer. I'm losing sleep because I'm afraid there's something wrong...
I have read that TMJ could be responsible for those symptoms, as well as GERD
I have been having similar issues for over a month. No polyps discovered yet, but sore throat at base of tongue, neck lumpiness, hoarseness. ENT sees nothing upon initial exam.
This is driving me nuts. So exhausted form these symptoms.
The best place for you to go for help would be the ENT that did your surgery. They can scope your throat again to see if you have another polyp, and can order a CR scan of you neck and head to see what is going on.
Try to relax. Most of the time there is nothing to worry about.
Take care.
