Dr Gould is currently away on annual leave.
My suggestion would be to discuss this with your doctor. If you feel uncomfortable (either physically or emotionally) it may affect your recovery.
I think that after a period of deprivation it is normal for the body to want to protect itself against future famine. It could also represent a loss of control and a need to suppress difficult emotions.
In the absence of advice from this expert I think you should refer back to your own doctor.
Hi,
I am a recovering anorexic and have just started eating again abour four months ago. When I first started I gained 5 pounds in like 3 days and was SUPER bloated.I eat all the time now, about ever 2 hours, 2400-2600 calories a day. I get full easily and then super hungry again a few hours later. I exersice 5/6 days per week for about an hour and burn 400-500 calories. I really want to go back to where I was before I started restricting, just a few pounds less, but it makes a difference because I am short. Now I weigh 133lb and would like to go back to 128lb where I feel comfortable but I am afriad to restrict again...I am wondering if my huge appetite is normal and if I should see a doctor?
This is an emotional eating forum but I will answer your question anyway..These symptoms could come from many causes, but it sounds a lot like a sudden drop in blood pressure, so see your doctor.
