Buldging eyes, enlarged pupils and enlarged eyeball -Right-eye-numb eyeball

Last night I awoke to my right eye very enlarged and buldging - it was completely numb.  My vision was distorted and I was really scared.  This has happened to me before for the exception of the numbness.  My eye was hard to the touch and painful- but not red.  I have had sinus congestion on that side that never seems to go away- I live in OHio- the sinus capital of the world- and my pressure is always high whenver I live in this state.  I know that high iop can lead to glaucoma and can mimck sinusitis- will this damage my optic nerve?  I have an appt on MAy 10th for a visual field test- should I order a pressure check too?  I also have been experiencing symptoms of DVT- could that be a contributing factor?  The doc said it wasn't an emergency w/ my eyes- but munb eyeballs are not normal for inflammed sinuses- do you agree?  Should I push for an earlier exam?

I'm scared I will loose my eyesight- it is extremly scary to wake up and not feel your eyeball and to see it sooo big !

Am I being too overly concerned?  My dad lost his eye due to retinal detachment- I need to know I'll be ok.  Could this be a stmptom of a stroke?

Thanks-
Daisy

wow.  your PUPIL was big?  or your *EYE* appeared big?  such an interesting description.  this does not sound like a "stroke".  it could, however, be angle-closure glaucoma (was your eye RED?)

no matter.  this is not diagnosable via the internet.  you need a full eye exam with pressure tesing and visual field.  i'd go asap. i wouldnt wait until the 10th.

PS- if I take Inderal- will it help with lowering the pressure in my eyes?

What can I do to prevent this?  What meds should I take?

I have some Timolol - drops- would this help?  (they were prescribed for my dog who had glaucoma-new bottle- (he passed away)- could I use those?

oral inderal would probably reduce your intraocular pressure very slightly.  but how do you even know you have high IOP?  i wouldnt take an oral beta blocker just b/c you think you might have raised iop.  i wouldnt take ANYTHING until/unless specifically directed by a physician.
