Sometimes I cannot open my eyes in daylight

Hello everyone,

I spend most of my time inside. I am usually at home on the computer or watching tv. For a few years I have had a problem that once and a while, like once every other week, my eyes will have a problem adjusting to the sunlight outside. When this occurs as long as I am outside I can't open my eyes more than a squint, once I get back into the shade I am fine.

Any information would be very helpful, thanks.

common.  called 'photophobia'.  in the absence of eye disease there is not really any great solution except to wear dark sunglasses outside when its bright.

Thanks for the response. This "photophobia" only occurs occasionally, like 1 of 10 15 days i am outside. Is there chances of this problem getting worse/better?

um, i dont know in your case.  these things are influenced by so many factors...refractive error, pupil size, iris color/pigment, fundus appearance/pigment, corneal health, cataracts, etc etc etc.  would be difficult to predict w/o an eye examination.
