Post cataract surgery

I had my left eye done a month ago tomorrow. ReZoom lens 13.5 DIOP was placed in my eye. On my last visit to the doctor, a week ago, my vision was 20/50 without any glasses. Considering I wasn't able to see anything before the surgery with that eye, and even before the cataract, my vision wasn't that good without glasses, I'm very happy. The halos differ every day, depending on how tired my eyes are. My biggest problem is the ghosting/double vision. It keeps me from being able to read and see clearly at any distance. Last week the doctor YAG's me. My cataract had been so dense and I had some cloudiness behind the lens, that he decided to do it then. It did help the halos, cleared up some of the vision, etc, but the double vision is still there. I finally bought some readers yesterday (+2.00) and it definetly helped my left eye. I can read all but really fine print with that. I did notice that it also cleared up my double vision while they are on. The down side is that I can't wear them all the time because then, of course, I can't see with my right eye.  Why is it that the readers would clear up the double vision?  I know I'm still adjusting to the new lens and I am being patient as my brain and eye learn to communicate again, I was wondering why this would happen. I'm wanting this eye to stabalize a bit before I have the other eye done, but I also want to get it done before the fall rains start and I have to try to drive at night with the bad halos. I know I'll still have some halos, but if both eyes are really bad, I'm afraid nighttime driving will be out.

I had a Rezooms implant in my left eye July 26 and am FINALLY very happy.....I guess I
expected immediate results and was upset for a few weeks w/the various problems
of needing readers for computer work...that is improving and my distance vision
is sharp and clear.  Time does heal......
My only complaint is the horrible halos and starbursts at night....I have a very
difficult time driving and must use a contact lens in my other eye or my old
glasses w/a clear lens in left eye.....still hopeful that will improve.  That eye is
not eligible for cataract removal yet.
I have heard that there are specific night vision glasses w/an amber lens that
I plan to check out....is anyone familiar with these glasses?

I wonder if because I was mostly farsighted that I had better results.  I always had good vision before the cataracts but the cataracts screwed everything up.  I could not not be more pleased as I can read any print no matter how small, near or far.

Hopefully, everything stays like this.  Anyone have other good experiences with Rezoom?

Wonderful!  Very happy for you.  I also have a Rezoom lens in my left eye and feel very fortunate with my vision correction. Lucky you!  You had the immediate results that I understand, most people with Rezoom have. I had to wait for my vision to come into focus. But not complaining.  The end results was worth the wait, even with my night aberrations. And am hoping after my second Rezoom implant, the night aberrations will lessen, as Rezoom  are made for bilateral implantation.

NO MORE GLASSES!

I am 37 years old and I just had my 2nd eye done yesterday with a Rezoom lens as a replacement for a cataract.

I had my first eye (right) 21.5 diopter done 2 weeks ago with Rezoom and the results are near unbelievable. I now have 20/20 vision in my right eye with a -0.25. Previously I was 20/60 in my right eye, has some astigmatism with a cataract and needed 1.75 readers to see any print but never wore prescription glasses. I was also far-sighted. Halos during the day are disappearing fast but still present at night. However, i can see far and clear at night if I ignore the halos.

My left eye (22.0) that was operated on yesterday (no 20/20) is already amazing. My near vision in it is great at 10-12 inches and better than my right eye which focuses better at 14-24 inches so I have a nice blend of near and intermediate. My far vision is now great at 20/20 in my right eye and may improve in both eyes as my left eye heals.

As a far-sighted, cataract patient, I strongly feel that Rezoom is the way to go. I haven't found any print too small to read. I considered Restore in my 2nd eye but once I saw how good my near distance was, there was no better choice.

"Why is it that the readers would clear up the double vision?"

the simplest explanation is that you have "double vision" at near due to uncorrected refractive error (not enough power).  that may yet resolve with time.
