Retinal Detachment

Eye recently had scleral buckle surgery to reattach my retina. The optomoligist was very please with the result and indicated that there were no complications. This week i am going in for a new eye prescription. Its now been about 7 weeks since my surgery and my pupil is still dialated. It is slowly getting a little smaller but still noticably larger than my other eye. Is this normal and will my pupil be more dialated than my other pupil always ?

it might always be like that.  buckle surgery is not nice to your eye, and there may be some damage to your pupillary musculature.  dont worry too much about it, i doubt it is fixable...

Hi Ron...I also have been thru s/b...and found it took
several weeks for eyes to become normal again.  I also found prescription changed a couple of times after surgery...you may want to wait a bit longer.  Good luck.
