'Surgical pupil'

Cataract surgery several years ago left me with a "surgical pupil" which is permanently dilated.  Can you describe the corrective surgery for this problem and the risks involved?

Thank you

Dr. Prince:
I want to thank you for taking your busy time to answer
these pressing questions.
I talked to you last week on the phone and found you
to be very helpful with your answers.

Again, thanks

The Staff surgeon at the VA Medical Center tells me that there is a procdure during which he can reduce the dilation to what would be effectively normal, reducing daytime glare and also restoring the middle vision (which is now blurry) to effectively normal.  He says that the amount of light now entering is causing a "bleaching" effect which, once reduced, should bring the vision back to normal.

i only check these boards once or twice a day.  i do have another (paying) job.  also, i get notifications of new posts, but not of replies to old posts.  and i am trying not be rude here... but am not your free on-call doctor to reply instantly to all of your posts in real time whenever you have one.

but to try and answer your question:  am not a surgeon.  i know a lot about surgical procedures but i do not perform them.  i have never heard of any surgical procedure to change the size or shape of a pupil.  sorry.  ask the surgeon who mentioned it to you.
