headaches /eye pain

ive had eye pain for a few days now, i am a 28 yo male with no family history of eye problems but the pain has gotten so itense to cause nausea & vomiting. The pain does responde to asparin but although the asperin relieves the pain it doesnt elinimate. I have become sensitive to light (outdoors) as this itensifies my pain. I am comcerned because i am a crohns disease patient who has taken prednisone on and off for over 10 years. Is steroid induced eye problems serious? I have always had eye "floaters" and minor eye pain/headaches and i recognize it might me a migrain although i have never had one prior. I see my doc on monday but getting into the eye clinic at the VA is close to impossible. So my question with having current concernes and being a frequent prednisone patient should i be concerned enough to push fopr eye clinical or should i just let my PC do her thing?

how probable is what in a 28yo male?  steroid-induced glaucoma?  not very.

ok so i paniced alittle after i read your response but i appreciate your honosty. My symptoms are mild and its been a few days so i dont think its a medical emergency but will pay attention for any new sympotoms, like halos, blurred vision, intense pain , redness or swelling if any other symptoms occur i will go to the ER, if my symptoms stay consitent from the last few days i will wait until tommorrow, sounds logical to me? ALL my currenty symptoms have been present other then the new eye pain. I was warned about prednisone increasing my risk of glucoma but it was a risk i was and am willing to  make. So although the acute problems are possible how probrable is it in a 28y/o male? thanks for your input i will let you know what the doc says tommorrow and will head your warning if my symptoms increase through out the day.

i am a little confused/concerned by your respnse. My appointment is for tommorow a 9 am,  i know you cant give specific advice but at what time should i seek immediate medical care? like i said my sympmtoms started about 4 days ago. mY light sensativity is only minor as i can still go outside and do daily activity. My pain is and had been minor since my big headache/eyepain 4 days ago. no other symtpoms are present in tommorow to late? i know you dont have enough info but like i already asked what if any sympomts should red flag me?

yes, steroid-induced eye problems can be "serious".  vision/eye threatening.  

eye pain and light sensitivity can be pretty serious symptoms.  push for an appointment as soon as you can.  some of the fairly serious possibilities could be anterior uveitis and angle closure glaucoma attack.  both could fairly quickly blind you.  of course there are more less serious possibilities, but no one will know whether your symptoms are from a serious condition like angle closure, or from a less serious condition until/unless you are seen.  and some of the serious conditions require immediate intervention...
