Problems with blurred vision, lack of focus, ghosting images...

I've had a ton of issues that started about 8 months ago. I've been to several opthomologists and optometrists and I'm getting beyond frustrating trying to figure out what's going on. I first got diagnosed with chronic dry eye, which has since improved, and have also had multiple instances of inflammation in my eyes which I've taken steroids for.
I have constant blurry vision, static in my vision, and it constantly feels like my eyes are trying to 'focus', almost like the muscles are contracting and trying to work but can't. White images on dark backgrounds always ghost, as well as some objects, all street signs, and every light I see have a halo around it or I see double of it.
My question is, has anyone else experienced this? The only time I've 'seen' like I used to see was looking through a pinhole at the doctors awhile ago. I also looked through a pinhole recently and the ghosting of images stopped.
