10 Years Old Vision Vs Glasses

I need help. I send my 10 years old to an eye specialist about a month ago. After checking with and without dilating, we were given a prescription. It goes : Right - SPH 0.75, CYL 0.50, Axis 180, V/A 6/6. Left - SPH 2.00, CYL 0.25, Axis 175, V/A 6/6-2. We could not find the right frame for her, but the optometrist gave us a new prescription : Right - SPH 1.75, Left - SPH  2.75. We doubted and the optometrist dilated her without our concent. They used different eye drop that my daughter keep crying from the sting. After 1 hour, he confirmed based on the pupil, his reading is accurate and insist we follow it else he will not guarantee her vision. The glasses will be ready tomorrow. The optometrist already told us, since it is her first glasses, we must ensure she wear it 3 days continuously and for the first 2 weeks, she will complaint headache or dizzy but it is normal for beginner. Parents must ensure she wear it all the time. Also, when she is reading, she must not wear her glass. I don't understand why, but I am confused and scared. I need advice from the professional with a kind heart,... as I am afraid of commercial advices...it is a childs vision and I am already guilty enough for not being good enough in taking care of her vision...I am afraid if I choose the wrong glasses caused her vision worst...

If you have access to an Eye MD ophthalmologist you might consider holding off on the glasses and get a second opinion. You did not write out the glasses RX correctly   is there a plus + in front of the sphere number or is there a minus - in front of the sphere.   If minus your child is myopic and there is not usually any problems adjusting to the glasses. If + plus your child is hyperopic or farsighted and there often is adjustment.

The fact that you were told to remove the glasses for reading makes me suspect that she is myopic and the numbers are negative -  as it makes no sense at all for a farsighted child to remove glasses.   Some optometrists feel if a myopic child removes their glasses for near (read, computer, iPhone) is my slow progression of myopia.

That is all I can tell you. i can't tell you whether the prescription is right or wrong. Those two glasses RX are significantly different.  As I said if you have access to an physician ophthalmologist rather than an optometrist it might address your worries and concerns.
