40 and a blurred world

I am 43 years old 'from the philippines, and was diagnosed to be myopic.I was advised to undergo PresbyLasik procedure. However a few days prior to my surgery, I was told that it wasn"t approved yet in our country as a surgical remedy for myopics. I am really frustrated. What can I do with my eyes then if this procedure can't be done here?

Thank you so much sir. That option has never been brought up during my consultation with an ophthalmologist here.I can read without glasses. I guess the next discussion with my doctor would be an interesting one. Or perhaps, I have to look for another specialist. Thank you sir for your time.

Probably not much. If you can read without glasses due to myopia you could consider lasik on the other eye and use Monovision  one eye for distance and one eye for near.

Doctor Hagan, thank you. However, I would really like to have my activities unbothered by the wearing of glasses. I tried wearing contact lenses during my outdoor activities but after 4 hours of using these, my eyes become red and itchy. Is there any surgical procedure that I can avail of if Presby Lasik is not for me? Will Lasik do?
