Airsoft To the Eye

Last night i was playing airsoft and was shot from about 10 ft away by a high powered airsoft rifle. It hit me directly in my left eye. I could barely see when it first happened and my eye was throbbing. I slept on it and woke up and my eye was completely red and everything was substantialy blurred. Also any time i look in any other direction it hurts. I have heard of people going blind from this but im sure many people have been fine to, right? What should i do?

Do not pass go, go not collect 200 ... go immediately to an ophthalmologist!!!!!!!!!!

You could have detached your retina, which is a very serious condition. One that will NOT improve with time, and the longer you wait, the more vision you could lose.

Make sure you go to an eye doctor who is trained in seeing the back of the retina. What you really want is a fundus exam (where they take a small lens and examine the back of your eye, the retina, in major detail. Do not just pick an optometrist, they are not trained and educated the same way.
