Anti glare Glasses

Hello, I recently bought a new pair of glasses, I was not able to adopt to it. I feel strain in my eyes whenever I were the glasses even for 10-15 minutes.

The people from whom I got this pair, say that it does not suit my eyes just because of the reason that my eyes are not tolerating the intensity of clarity provided by the glasses. So it causes strain in my eyes. But I do not agree with it. I also got the power of the lenses double-checked to see if that is causing the problem, but the power exactly matches with the glasses which I were presently wear.  I would be grateful if you could please guide in this regard as I am feeling cheated.

I would also like to add that the glasses which I presently use are not the anti glare ones and I previously used the anti glare kind of glasses which provided 97% of transmission of light. And the new pair provides 99% transmission of light.  Is the increased transmission of light really causing the problem?

    Thank you very much.

There are many variables on glasses beside the glasses RX.  Think about it like this: most people have a home a closet full of shoes that are more or less the same size. But each pair has a peculiar "feel" to the person wearing them. Generally not having the AR coating would not make that much difference.

You can see if the people that sold you your glasses would do one of two things:   1. Take back the glasses and refund your money.  2. If the "new" glasses are not as comfortable as the "old" glasses you can ask if they would at no charge or greatly reduced charge put the old prescription in the new frames.   That would make the new and old as close to the same as possible.

Probably caused by lack of anti-glare treatment of your new glasses, or possibly that the old ones had some kind of UV or polarizing filter.

Extra-thin glasses (made from highly refractive plastic material) also give rise to more color separation if you don't look straight forward. If you look at a bright white object on black background you will see red on one side and blue on the other. This can lead to some eye strain.
