Black film on upper eye lid

Recently I have been having this big black line over my upper eye lid that impairs my right eye somewhat.

Sometimes I have a sort of clear film that floats by as well.

What could it be?

Also I had an eye exam a couple of months ago and everything was fine.  My physical also was fine no diabetes or etc.

I have how ever had laser surgery a couple of years ago for some small holes on the lower part of my eye.  During the recent eye exam that repaired spot was holding.

Thank you

You need to see an eye MD ophthalmologist perhaps the one that did the laser treatment. Need to rule out retinal detachment or tears.

Hi, I am a community leader here not a doctor. I have a lot of experience helping eye patients including myself. Welcome to our community.

I assume you can see the line in your vision. I would get re-checked by an eye MD as soon as possible. These could be floaters, or a sign of a problem. Find an eye MD, an ophthalmologist,  at www, aao, org, if you do not already have one.

Dr. hagan will review my response to you and add helpful information.

Write back when you need to.
