Black patch

Hi,
I had my cataract surgery on my left eye in last Apr,2008.They did ultra sound ot break my lense. The very next day when the shield is removed I started seeing a black patch in my vision in  the left corner of my left operated eye.If I turn the eye to the right the black patch moves to the center of my eye upto the left left edge of my iris.If I look straight it hides in the left corner of my eye.If I turn to the left corner  it hides in the left corner only. Like this since that black patch moves along with the eye the vision is shaky and annoying. It's been 6 months since I got operated .I have a feeling but I am not sure it's little bit better than what it was earlier. My eye surgeon sent me to neuro ophthalmologist and did MRI and some other tests but they came normal. They did many tests and all are normal.I have to go for my right eye surgery on Nov,12th with the same surgeon.I am scarred to get operated. If I get the same problem in  my right eye too my vision will be all messed up.No one is able to find our what could be the problem. If any one of you knows what kind of problem this could be the surgeon can rectify the problem and can do the other eye successfully. Please send your answer as quickly as possible before Nov 12th.Thank you.

You need to understand the limitations of this forum. I cannot make a definitive diagnosis nor can I give explicit recommendations since I have not examined the eye. Therefor you will need to make these decisions on your own.

However a cataract operation is rarely an emergency and if you are still unhappy/apprehensive you can seek additional opinions or wait a while longer.

Dr.John C Hagan III,
Thanks for your response.I went to the retina eye specialist also but he also could not find any kind of problem in my eye.I don't understand what is that you have referred about the virteous opacity.Could you Pls explain what it means? The neuro ophthalmologist also said to proceed with the second eye operation. You say not to.Pls tell me is it possible to repaeat the same problem in my second eye too?Since when I did not have any problem before sugery and if it occurs after the surgery means isn't it the problem caused by the surgery or isn't it because the eye surgeon has done the surgery in a wrong way?Pls give me a clear opinion regarding whether I can have my second eye done by the same surgeon or not and what could be the problem regarding my black patch? Thanks again for your suggession.Looking forward for your reply.
Thank you

First don't rush into the second operation when you are still unhappy with the first operation or you're looking for double trouble.

Get a direct answer from the neuroophthalmologist as to what he/she thinks is the problem. Then see a retina Eye MD opthalmologist for their opinion of your problem.
You may be seeing a vitreous opacity.
