Is monovision suitable for people with high myopia and possibly a lazy eye?

Hello,
I started seeing strange projections around lights about a year ago. 6 months ago, the doctors told me that I had a cataract in my left eye, which has high myopia (-13.50). Now my vision is cloudy so it looks like I need surgery.

The RE is my 'good eye'-only myopia -6.50.

My consultant had suggested monovision: taking the LE down to about -2.00 and the RE (which also has a cataract) down to -0.50.

Given that my work involves a lot of reading and working on the computer, I m not sure that monovision will allow me to work for long hours at the computer.

Also, as the LE may be lazy (we re not sure), will monovision actually work?

How long should I wait before doing cataract surgery on the other eye?

Thank you in advance!
