ReLEx Smile procedure

Do you have any opinion on this new laser refractive surgery?  It seems to be an improvement on LASIK with no flap needed and the possibility of being used on higher prescriptions.  My prescription is -11.75 in both eyes (plus some astigmatism) and I've been told that LASIK or LASEK are not possible.  I don't wish to have lens replacement because of the risk of detached retinas so I'm hoping that this is a viable option.

Thankyou for your advice, much appreciated though I believe I'm too old for ICL as I'm 55.

This is a new procedure that removed some of your cornea without a flap.  However, I would wait with your prescription.  It results in changes to your cornea and you will probably have a lot of visual distortion.  You may be a good candidate for  an ICL.
