Blurry vision with soft contacts

My eye glass prescription is
OD.  SPH-1.75, CYL-2.00, AX105
OS. SPH-1.50, CYL-2.00, AX75

and my current contact soft-lens prescription is
OD.  SPH-2.00, CYL-1.25, AX110
OS. SPH-1.75, CYL-1.25, AX70

I am nearsighted and have astigmatism and the term “against the rule” astigmatism
was used.

I have been wearing Bausch&Lomb toric66 for approximately 10 years now.

My eye sight seems to be getting less sharp but my prescription is not drastically
changing?  My biggest problem is reading text, I can now only read street signs when I’m at the intersection and the big 5’ long ones from not much further back.  Almost every day now I get so aggravated with my contacts not correcting my vision’ it really depresses me.  I know I could where my glasses but I rely so much on my peripheral
vision that they slow me down and are downright dangerous in some situations to wear.

I’ve tried many different brands with no luck including the new high oxygen permeability
such as O2-optics and acuvue oasis among 4 other brands this last month.

After an exam for lasik which I will not be doing, the Doc. brought it to my attention
I will never have clear vision with soft-lens but GP’s may solve the problem.

My question is will GP lenses work with a “against the rule” astigmatism, internal
and external astigmatism?

What are the most comfortable lenses, I’ve read scleral and hydro 02.

And why can I see clearly when I pull slightly back on the sides of my eyes when I’m wearing soft-lenses?

Internal astigmatism is determined by checking the eye, and the corneal measurements and the glasses RX.

You alone can determine which opinion is best and that you can afford. In the long run contacts are much more expensive than glasses and LASIK

So then I guess my best option is buy a roll of scotch tape for $1.25 and tape the sides of my eyes back? j/k

I just saw an eye doc. several times this month and we were starting a GP lens fitting but he retired before we finished.

I don’t have insurance so this is all out of pocket and getting very costly.

How to I find out how far off my internal astigmatism is?

Just wondering if that is the cause of the blurriness.

Also I forgot to mention my right eye is lazy.
Could this be a possible issue, I was told no
by the last Doc.

The most important thing would be to exclude some sort of eye disease causing your problem. So you do need to see an Eye MD for that. 99% chance its purely contact lens. Not everyone can wear contacts. About 20% of our LASIK practice are people that have lost their ability to wear contacts.

GPC lens generally give clearer vision than regular or toric softs and correct the amount of astigmatism you have.   GPC are good against with the rule, against the rule and oblique axis astigmatism. They do not correct internal astigmatism which is not very common, doesn'nt come from the cornea and is usually due to the lens of the eye.

When you tighten your lids with your contacts in you round out the cornea and reduce the astigmatism making it more spherical.
