Dr. John C. Hagan is a board certified ophthalmologist, specializing in adult ophthalmology, including cataract consultation.
He was the founder of the Midwest Eye Institute of Kansas City, and now practices at Discover Vision Centers of Kansas City. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri, and earned his medical degree from Loyola University. He completed an ophthalmologic residency at Emory University after serving in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He has published over 140 scientific articles, and designed several surgical instruments. He has edited two medical text books and contributed to two others. Dr. Hagan is the editor of Missouri Medicine: The Journal of the Missouri Medical Association, and is a frequent contributor to clinical research.
The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) has honored Dr. Hagan with the Secretariat Award, which recognizes ophthalmologists for special contributions to the Academy and to the field of ophthalmology, as well as the distinguished Hall of Fame Award. He is also listed as one of America’s Top Ophthalmologists by the Consumers’ Research Council of America.
Dr. Hagan has been helping people on MedHelp since 2007, always as a volunteer.
