N-Acetyl-Carnosine as an alternative to cataract surgery?

I went to an eye physician for new glasses. He told me I needed cataract surgery. I am terrified. I searched the web for alternatives and found several ads and articles on N-Acetyl-Carnosine eye drops.

Has anyone had experience with(or knowledge about)the use of  these eye drops? Any thoughts you have would be appreciated.

It looks like a different NAC thread today was completely deleted (including my post). If this was an act of censorship, it disturbs me greatly.
