Dear all,
The day before yesterday my wife had an incident at home which resulted in a corneal abrasion. We first went to the Emergency, then later to the eye doctor. The eye doctor says the abrasion is rather serious and detected the beginning of an infection. He prescribed Levofloxacin, Tobramycin and Bovine Fribroblast Growth Factor. The abrasion took place more than forty hours ago and so far we don't see any sensible improvement. We are worried about the infection more than anything. The worst symptoms related to corneal abrasion are present: acute pain, irritation, strong light sensitivity, plus a yellow secretion. In some hours my wife will be examined again. I have been reading that most cases (?) get better after 24 or 48 hours, but that obviously doesn't apply to my wife. I would like to know what you think of her case and whether you have some specific advice to us. We very much appreciate your attention and kindness.
