Crystalens removal

My question is this:  Is it possible my lens is defective and is it too late to remove it?  I saw Dr. Oyakawa's u-tube video where he/you removed a Crystalens and replaced it with another.

Background information:

I had cataract surgery and Crystalens implantation on the second (left) eye on January 5th. The lens was to give me distance vision.  After approximately 2 1/2 weeks, sight in that eye deteriorated to 20/70.  My doctor explained that the lens had flexed forward but would not move back, possibly due to some fluid leakage.  He performed another surgery to reposition the lens and add fluid on January 26th.

He checked me the next day and said the lens was in a good position and to follow up in one week.  When I returned on Feb. 3rd, my vision in that eye was 20/150.  My doctor had contacted Crystalens to explain my situation as he had not encountered this problem before, and subsequently asked me to continue with my regular drops ( Lotemax, Vigamox and Nevanac) and add a third drop to keep my eye dilated for 5 days (something about the muscles in my eye).  I am currently on my 5th day and have an appointment to see him tomorrow.  I am beginning to lose hope and confidence that my sight will improve.

Thank you for any information you can provide.

Jo

Thank you for your response.  I will search archives as you suggested for possible explanation(s) for dramatic decrease in distance vision.

Problems with Crystalens are rarely defective lens problems.  You can use the search feature and archives to read about problems with Crystalens.
