Dilation

I notice that when I am dilated for a doctor's exam, my ability to see my constant floaters and other distortions in my vision disappears.  The undilated eye is then providing the brain all the view.  This dilation gives my brain a lot of relief.  What is wrong with use of dilation to quell the stressful views of my eye?  What is too frequent, and why?Russell903

You can always do an internet search of research projects underway and see if any groups near you are investigating those fields.

Thanks for the advice.  I figured that macular damage might be a downside but wanted your professional opinion.  Now, if only a research group could utilize such experiences as mine and develop a way to mute the visual disturbances with some eye drops, perhaps a temporary coloration effect that mutes the lava lamp effect to one tone.  that's my scientific side erupting again.  I'd sure like to be of help to some group like that as a researcher and/or as a patient in clinical trials.

Not practicle. Will interfear with reading and TV and computers. Will make bright sunny days intolerable. Might increase risk of macular degeneration.
