Does eye patching worsen myopia in the patched eye?

I wonder if patching the dominant eye would worsen myopia progression in that eye for kids. I tried looking it up online but found nothing. I'm asking out of curiosity.

The only reason to patch the eye of a child  would be for treatment of amblyopia.  It would not make myopia worse. Patching is used to improve the vision in a visually immature, young child.

Thanks for the answer. I read a lot about myopia progression and control recently, and it got me wondered if this would mean a worse RX outcome for an affected kid.
Myopia progression:  low birth weight, family history high myopia, lack of outdoors daily play/activities, prolonged near work on computer, iPad, iPhone, any video screen, reading.
