I might add that any benefit you have from prisms in your glasses cannot be duplicated by refractive surgery.

No it is not possible with refractive surgery to completely eliminate the need for glasses in patients 40 or over. You can often improve your vision without glasses, reduce dependence on glasses with the refractive surgery.
There are other factors such as glasses RX, corneal thickness, other eye problems and your expectations out of what you would gain from the sugery.
If you want to explore these you would need to see an Eye MD ophthalmologist that does refractive surgery.

I am very short sighted with astigmatism and prisms. My question is this; Can I have corrective surgery or wear contact lenses so I no longer need to wear glasses please?
Thanks very much for your time and trouble in advance
I was diagnosed with astigmatism and high cylindrical power +4.50. I had C3R procedure in July. The doctor advised toric lenses. That procedure is for a term of minimum 5 years and rest depending on care n precautions taken.
