Extreme myopia

I have a diff. case.  one eye is a -2 and the other -11.  I was told glasses are out of the question and even if I got them anyway, I would have issues because my eyes are so different.  My ins. only pays for glasses, not contacts, which would help me see best.  Outside of surgery, what is something that is affordable to correct my vision?  my o.d. also said my bad eye is going to continue to worsen no matter what because it already has so much in a short amount of time.  So am I going to go blind in this eye in the future?

You should see an ophthalmologist that does refractive surgery. (a corneal surgeon would be good).

Your best opinon would be a refractive lens exchange or a intraocular contact lens.  Glasses, contacts and lasik will not correct that big of a difference.

If you have health insurance it is quite likely that with proper documentation and pre-certification that your health insurance will pay for the surgery.  If you do not have health insurance and can't afford the surgeon go to a medical school department of ophthalmology. they will often do the surgery at reduced or no charge as part of their teaching program.
