On the "blue top bottle drops" there is a prescription name. If you post that, you might get a helpful answer.
Really, patients should know the name of every prescription they are are taking--and what it's for. You can--and absolutely should--ask the doc or the pharmacist; they will be happy to give you the info. Also, you can simply type the name of the med into a google search box, and tons of info will come up.
But first--you have to know the NAME of the drug in question.
And as for what your 'friend may have heard," is this person a doctor or nurse? If not, why are you even listening to him or her?
Could the blue top bottle drops be for swelling? My eyeball was very tender and sore for a couple weeks after surgery. I took my doctors advice. Just wondering what my friend may have heard.
I have had two eye surgeries (for cataracts). I was prescribed an antibiotic, a steroid (your prednisolone) to keep things calm in there after surgery, and an antiinflammatory (that MIGHT be your 'blue"??).
All three of these helped my eyes recover with the least trouble possible.
Why on earth does your friend think your doctor--your MD--would prescribe something dangerous to the very eye he was working on? Think it through.
Vigamox is a strong antibiotic
Predisolone is a steroid non inflammatory
