Eyes now a different prescription

I have always had the same prescription in both eyes for glasses/contacts. I went to a new eye doctor who made my glasses prescription slightly different for each eye. He kept my contacts the same for each eye (-2.25) but glasses different for each eye. I am worried that one eye will become weaker over time, or that it it will be strange interchanging from glasses/contacts in this situation. Should I request the same prescription in both eyes?

Glasses RX and contact RX often are different.  The new glasses will not weaken your eye over time, but over time.....time will weaken your eye.
