Vision quickly faded into white, followed by fainting

My girlfriend has experienced a gradual but quick fade into white in her vision (both eyes) at work today, and then she briefly lost her consciousness.

She's 23 years old and a bit underweight (163 cm/47.5 kg). She works in a plastic molding factory, and suffers from stress, insomnia and probably depression as well.

However, she was at her restaurant-takeaway part time job today, and had slept well too.

While she was serving a customer at the start of her shift, she suddenly started losing her vision as it faded into white, as if frost was covering her field of view as she described it. She realized what's going on and grabbed a coworker by the hand to take her place and sat down, where her vision continued fading into a state of complete whiteness, and then she fainted. After what seem to have been a few minutes, she woke up mostly normal, feeling dizzy but without pain or any other noticeable symptoms. She quickly regained her consciousness and continued her day normally after that.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but since the white-out came before fainting, then it's very unlikely to be the symptom of an eye disease.

Would you recommend seeing a doctor? How big is the risk?

Thanks in advance

Yes she should see her personal physicain, family MD, or internist. It's not at all likely an eye problem.
