Prednisolone drops for Scleritis/Scleral thinning

Hi,

I have possible scleral thinning (eye-shape is changing) or scleritis with normal pressures of eyes 17 and 16. My only pain relief (pain that radiates from eyeball to nasal sinuses) is when I use Prednisolone AC 1% 5ml eye drops. I want to know if it is ok for someone with scleral problems like scleral thinning to take these drops, and if they would help the condition in any way. Thanks, in advance.

I would strongly suggest you be under the care of a corneal ophthalmologist and perhaps a rheumatolgist. Many cases of scleritis are associated with collagen vascular disease or auto immune disease. It is also possible for steroids to make the condition worse. The most common disease with scleritis is rheumatoid arthritis. You may need oral medication.

it may happens due to autoimmune to some people but i have got it because of excess playing tv games like at a long stretch without taking any break even though my eyes couldnt take any strain still i continued playing never thought of the consequence..
No that would not be a cause or there would be a world-wide epidemic of scleritis which hasn't happened. There is a world wide epidemic of dry eyes and myopia due to endless house on computer/video screens world-wide.
