Blepharitis

Does blepharitis have an effect on the outcomes of cataract surgery like dry eye syndrome? Is it curable or is it a chronic syndrome that one can only "control"? I was diagnosed with it during my first eval, but my second opinion said I didn't have it. Was wondering if it was a significant condition I would need to keep in mind like dry eyes when considering surgery. Thank you bunch.

Dry eyes and blepharitis often occur together. Both are chronic problem where one speaks of "control" rather than cure.  Generally surgeons want the lids 'cleaned up' before cataract surgery.  Warm compresses with a reusable microwave eye lid heating pad are suggested as well as a high quality eye lid cleaner. One of the best is Ocusoft Eye Cleaning Foam Plus Platinum and lid spray:  Links  https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=ocusoft+plus+platinum&tbm=shop&spd=121368813664326372   and http://www.ocusoft.com/ocusoft-lid-scrub-plus-platinum-foam-50ml-2
