How Safe is LASIK?

hi,
i have myopia,and currently i am using  Contact lenses of power close to -7. i am about 23 years of age. I am planning to undergo Lasik. what do u suggest? what about the repercussions in the post operation period? is it safe? i have heard the success rate is only about 95%.. Are there any chances of losing my vision if i undergo LASIK?

I wouls also add that your current perscription should be stable for a couple of years before under going Lasik surgery. If your eyes are still changing, getting more near-sighted, you should wait.

LASIK is safe but not without complications (like driving an automobile).  Nothing in medicine is 100%.  The risk of going blind from lasik is less than one in 10,000  If you can't accept these small risks stay with glasses or contacts.
