I've heard that SynergEyes are not quite as comfortable as soft contacts but provide sharper vision. Their multifocal model is supposed to provide much better vision than soft multifocals. You can get a list of local providers from the manufacturer, who could probably put you in touch with happy patients.
I've heard about the SynergEyes hybrid contact lenses, but can't find much info from actual patients w/ them aside from the manufacturer's site and a few message boards saying that they're rather pricey (which I already kinda figured). So if you do try these let me know, as I'm very interested in trying these out (once I get the all clear from my retina doc.)
Actually, in the past I posted here inquiring if anyone was familiar with these contacts but got no response....
Multifocal contacts don't work well for a lot of people. But you should definitely try a different brand/type of multifocal before giving up. There are a lot of different options on the maket, and most providers use only a few of them. I've heard good things about a hybred multifocal, with a hard center and soft skirt. Contacts set for monovision are another option to consider--this works well for many people.
