Irritated Scaly Eyelid

I have had an irritated top eyelid for about three weeks, and just recently it's scabbed and has been leaking pus. It is not painful, but it is after I peeled it (I know, I shouldn't have done that). Can someone give me some help?

Before you stop coffe go to the Heart or Cardiology forums and read the article posted about coffee by Dr. Jame O'Keefe MD on the beneficial effect of coffee on heart, neurologic and diabetic prevention.

After reading it I RESUMED coffee drinking.

Wow, I will try what you said with the probiotic and sugar ect. I started coffee again after 15 years of not drinking it, I guess it's time to stop. This sounds like this could be my problem. Thank you I will try it.

Hi, I just started having these same exact symptoms starting spring 2011. I thought at first seasonal allergies. No allergy med helped. Then I thought I might be having a food or product allergy (i.e. a new face lotion, hair product, etc). I went for months doing the process of elimination but it always returned (red, scaling, peeling, puffyness, and oozing of the puss at times - plus wrinkles underneath, horrible!).  I started reading all of the forums looking for other possible answers and saw post after post of people with the same thing going to doctors who were prescribing steroids and related lotions or meds and they all said it helped a little, but then came right back. So I started looking in another direction, and finally realized it was my diet and my natural pH balance was off. This made sense logically because most doctors never ask about diet or prescribe a diet change + probiotics for such a condition. I started taking a probiotic immediately (available in any drug store these days - includes acidophilous), and also applied a combination of 50% eucerin lotion and 50% over the counter hydrocortizone creame. I was 95% better overnight!  One eye healed completely, the other eye was almost the same. I encourage anyone with this condition to look at your diet and something called Candida (Google Candida test and you will find many online question tests you can take, including a 'saliva test' to indicate if this might be the issue). BUT PLEASE NOTE - you do not have to buy the expensive products those sites are selling in order to reduce the candida yeast!  Years ago I had a 3 month sinus infection and it was the from the same thing, although my doctor just kept prescribing stronger and stronger antibiotics. Candida is a natural yeast found in the colon, that can "overgrow" out of control from diet. It overgrows from eating too much carbs and sugar and caffeine. Try eliminating white refined sugar, minimize carb and caffeine intake and start taking a probiotic (sold in any drug store now). I now take acidophilous once a day and minimize those foods, and when I cheat a bit (esp hard not to around the holidays), I use the 50/50 lotion I mentioned and take the probiotic and it helps keep the yeast in check. Finding this solution that worked so quickly after trying so many things -- I had to get back on this site and share.  The odd thing with Candida is that it can cause a wide variety of symptoms and western med doctors don't look at these kind of natural things in our bodies  -- they are often trying to fix the symptom rather than looking for a root cause. If this helps even 1 person, please reply to this post as I would like to hear your story. I hope it helps someone - please try it!
